1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using BraidMyHair ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Platform Overview

BraidMyHair is a marketplace that connects customers seeking hairstyling services with independent hairstylists who provide at-home services. We facilitate the discovery, booking, and payment process but are not a party to the service agreement between customers and stylists.

BraidMyHair does not employ the stylists on our platform. Stylists operate as independent service providers.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or inappropriate behavior.

4. Customer Responsibilities

As a customer, you agree to:

  • Provide a safe, clean, and appropriate location for the stylist to perform services
  • Be present and available at the agreed booking time
  • Communicate any allergies, sensitivities, or special requirements before the appointment
  • Treat stylists with respect and professionalism
  • Pay for services as agreed through the Platform

5. Stylist Responsibilities

As a stylist, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your skills, services, and pricing
  • Maintain professional standards and deliver services as described
  • Arrive at the agreed time and location with all necessary supplies
  • Comply with all applicable health, hygiene, and safety regulations
  • Respond promptly to customer communications and booking requests

6. Bookings & Cancellations

Bookings are confirmed once the customer completes the booking process and receives a confirmation. Both parties are expected to honour confirmed bookings.

Customer Cancellations: Customers may cancel bookings subject to the stylist's cancellation policy. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee.

Stylist Cancellations: Stylists are expected to honour all confirmed bookings. Repeated cancellations may result in account penalties or removal from the platform.

BraidMyHair reserves the right to mediate disputes arising from cancellations on a case-by-case basis.

7. Payments

All payments for services booked through BraidMyHair are processed securely through the Platform. Customers agree to pay the full amount at the time of booking or as specified.

BraidMyHair charges a service fee on each booking. This fee is disclosed before you confirm your booking.

Stylists receive their earnings after the service is completed, minus the platform's commission, according to the payout schedule described in the Stylist Agreement.

8. Reviews & Ratings

Customers may leave reviews and ratings after a completed booking. Reviews must be honest, relevant, and free from abusive or discriminatory language.

BraidMyHair reserves the right to remove reviews that violate our community guidelines.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or discriminate against any user
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Attempt to circumvent the Platform's payment system
  • Scrape, copy, or misuse data from the Platform
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation

10. Intellectual Property

All content, design, logos, and technology on BraidMyHair are the property of BraidMyHair or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

Content you upload (such as profile photos or portfolio images) remains yours, but you grant BraidMyHair a licence to display and use it within the Platform for operational purposes.

11. Limitation of Liability

BraidMyHair acts as a marketplace facilitator and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcome of services provided by stylists. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted information.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BraidMyHair shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

12. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between a customer and stylist, we encourage both parties to communicate directly and attempt to resolve the matter amicably. BraidMyHair may, at its discretion, mediate disputes or issue refunds.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Lagos, Nigeria.
